Micro-Enterprise

As poverty is the biggest problem in the township areas due to high unemployment rates, Calabash Trust understands the need to empower people to become self-sufficient. So far we have promoted and developed a small business entrepreneurship, turning unemployed parents into business owners.

Please have a look at Latita Community Soap Project.

We aim to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged parents in the township community by providing a sustainable platform from which to empower themselves, to generate income for them through micro-enterprise development, enabling them to provide for their families in terms of food, clothing, housing and education. This would further contribute to cultivating schools of excellence owing to parents being able to pay for their children’s school fees.
